rich teaching and life experience: Since the start of the COVID 19 pandemic when the closure of examination facilities led to the immediate loss of face to face classes, I have put my total of 20 years of teaching experience into online education. Having graduated as a Chemical Engineer, I previously worked in the water industry for seven years but have long since had a clear identity as an educator derived from 14 years teaching secondary school science and conversational English in Buenos Aires, Argentina. ​As the famous saying goes, "Brazil is not for beginners," and arriving shortly before the pandemic, I have not only added Portuguese to my fluent Spanish, but had to pivot a number of times in order to establish myself here. In this process I have given support classes to students of maths, physics and chemistry at some of São Paulo's top international schools, learnt how to prepare students for the SAT, IELTS and GRE English language exams, been contracted as a translator and project facilitator for a short, light machinery installation project in a New Hamburg tannery and presently divide my time between private English students and those from an executive English agency. ​As a well travelled, lifelong musician with a Black Belt in the martial art Pa Kua and instructor status in Tai Chi Kua, I have many experiences which help me to promote a friendly and interesting atmosphere with which to take advantage of my teaching experience and create abundant and enjoyable opportunities for learning.
